Hello, my name is Craig Hall. I would like to tell you
how I came to know the Lord and how He led me to be pastor of Calvary Chapel
Church in Fortuna. It all began at the age of sixteen, when I was invited
to play church basketball in San Jose, where I lived. A few weeks later I
attended church and heard the gospel for the first time. Soon thereafter,
I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart and was baptized on my seventeenth birthday.
I heard the call to serve Him, in some form of ministry position, at a
very early age. But my plans were different than His, and I went my own way.
Of course (I didn't know it at the time) God was fully in control of my
steps. As time went on, I met my beautiful, soon-to-be-wife, Tami. Five
years after I accepted the Lord, Tami and I were married, and we moved to Fortuna.
For many years I experienced a lukewarm existence. The Lord then spoke
to my heart about serving Him as pastor. I was amazed; the Lord was calling
me again, and I had another chance to do it His way.
This time I yielded to His call
and was soon in training with my pastor, Jerry Foster. I also ministered
in Sunday School and worked with the youth. In 1991, Jerry Foster moved to
South Lake Tahoe to start a Calvary Chapel there. That is when I became
the senior pastor at Calvary Chapel in Fortuna (formerly Grace
Chapel).
Tami and I have been blessed with three boys, Rory, Ryan,
and Riley. We are very thankful to our Lord and Savior for the opportunity
to minister with the saints at Calvary Chapel in Fortuna.
